On September 1st, NAfME will activate their online submission page for our 2014 music research and education conference. Like many SRIGs, we have decided to solicit submissions for our session through their site. This year, we are excited to announce that Ruth Brittin, Professor of Music Education at University of the Pacific, will be opening our session. Although we have not selected a specific theme, we are encouraging members to submit presentation proposals for in-progress or completed work dealing with any issue related to affective response. We would also like to encourage submissions from scholars whose interests lie outside traditionally represented topics in the field, or whose work employs methodologies not commonly represented (i.e., philosophical, theoretical, etc.).
Submissions must be received by October 15th. All submissions will be reviewed by a three-member panel consisting of the current chair and chair-elect, as well as a former chair yet to be selected.
The NAfME submission page can be found here: NAfME 2014
We are looking forward to your submissions, and hope that our next session will be as lively and well attended as the one in 2012.
